Action packed aerial bantering and culture in ‘Red Tails’

It’s been more than 20 years since HBO made the movie The Tuskegee Airmen detailing the all-black World War II aerial squadron who surprised their comrades with their flying skills. For almost that long, George Lucas has wanted to make the first of a three-part story about the Tuskegee Airmen, but studios balked about the story’s all-black cast. So Lucas threw in his own money to make Red Tails, the first of that series, and if it’s profitable, Lucas will proceed on. 

 


‘Contraband’ offers nothing new — save your money

Contraband has a lot going for it action wise but other than that it’s disappointing.

Even the star power of Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster and Kate Beckinsale can’t push this crime drama past mediocre due to a script that doesn’t know what it wants to be and has no redeemable characters.
